Republican leader wants house seatEd Haynes, recently retired from a 38-year government service career, is seeking the Republican nomination for Colorado House District 53, the seat currently held by Democrat Angie Paccione. Haynes, a former chairman of the Larimer County Republican Party, is running on a platform to improve transportation in Northern Colorado, to ensure fiscal restraint in state government and to promote economic policies that will create jobs for Colorado citizens. "It's plain to see that congestion is a huge problem and that, in turn, causes a serious safety problem," Haynes said. Haynes, 58, graduated from Weber State College in Ogden Utah with a degree in business management, banking and finance. His professional career included civilian service with the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. His most recent service was as a computer security specialist with the Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service in Fort Collins. House District 53 includes most of west Fort Collins, south of Mulberry Street and west of College Avenue. It includes the campus of Colorado State University. |
