Fort Collins budget review set

Fort Collins residents interested in how the city spends money may view the proposed 2006-07 budget online at fcgov.com/budget.

Copies of the recommended budget are also available at the Main Library, 201 Peterson St.; the Harmony Library, 4616 S. Shields St.; and the city clerk's office, 300 LaPorte Ave. In addition, people may purchase a personal copy of the 2006-07 recommended budget at the downtown FedEx Kinkos, 130 W. Olive St.

Citizens will have multiple opportunities to learn more about the recommended budget and to comment. Upcoming events follow:

Public hearings (conducted during regular city council meetings)

• Oct. 4, 6 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers, 300 LaPorte Ave. Council work session (council discussion only)
• Oct. 11, 6 p.m., City Hall CIC Room, 300 LaPorte Ave. Public input during the budget adoption process
• Nov. 2, 6 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers. City council will make preliminary decisions on the 2006-07 budget.
• Nov. 15, 6 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers. City council will make final decisions and adopt the 2006-07 biennial budget.

All council work sessions, public hearings and meetings during the budget adoption process will be televised live on City Cable 14.
