Wellington chamber seeks membersAll business leaders with an interest in Wellington are invited to a business-after-hours event on March 30 at the Budweiser Visitor Center. The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce, which organized this winter, is hosting the gathering. Those wishing to attend should RSVP by March 17 by leaving a message at 568-4133. Festivities start at 5:30 p.m. with a buffet of light fare and beverages. Presentations start at 6:30 p.m. The visitor center is located north of the Mountain Vista exit off Interstate 25. Using the theme "Where Families, Community and Business Come Together," the chamber is currently recruiting members. Annual dues are $150 or $250, depending on benefits a member wants to receive. In its recruitment letter, the chamber says it is working to provide its members opportunities to make their businesses more visible to local and regional customers, expose owners to each other through networking programs, provide educational opportunities to improve business success and develop cost-saving programs to reduce operating costs. It will also encourage new businesses to come to Wellington to increase the diversity of the shopping experience. "We need more shopper dollars in Wellington for small businesses to survive here," the letter says. |
