Poudre Canyon addresses retainedResidents living along Poudre Canyon Highway will be able to keep their road name now that the U.S. Postal Service has said it can use a dual designation when sorting mail with its automated equipment. The road is also known as State Highway 14, and for a time it looked as if Larimer County was going to require properties fronting on the roadway to change their addresses to Highway 14, even though they have been using Poudre Canyon Highway addresses for decades. Canyon residents objected and petitioned the Larimer County Commissioners to reconsider, but commissioners took no action. Instead, the decision by the Postal Service resolved the issue. Canyon residents received the news on June 1 from Karlin Goggin, the county's addressing coordinator. |
