New edition of 'Among These Hills' published

The long-awaited second edition of "Among These Hills: A History of Livermore, Colorado" will be available for sale this month.

The Livermore Woman's Club, founded in 1896, published the first edition in 1995, which quickly sold out. A second printing sold out by mid-1999 and has been out of print ever since.

Material for the second edition was researched and compiled over a period of more than three years by a committee led by Heather Knight. It contains fresh information, including new chapters on prehistory; early roads, trails and waterways; commerce and enterprises, and it includes an index. It also contains an expanded "roadside tour" and a map showing historic ranches, landmarks and other points of interest.

"This book will be enjoyed by newcomers, old timers and visitors alike," noted Mary Torrez, president of the Livermore Woman's Club.

The book will be available at many local stores for $20 or by mail order by sending a check for $25, which covers the book price and shipping costs, payable to Livermore Woman's Club, P.O. Box 3, Livermore CO 80536.
