Democrat Bowen seeks commissioner post

Adam Bowen, current chair of the Larimer County Democratic Party, has announced his candidacy for the Larimer County Board of County Commissioners.

He will be running for the District 1 spot, up for election in November. Republican Lew Gaiter of Fort Collins was recently appointed to the position to finish the term of Kathay Rennels, who resigned to take a job with Colorado State University.

Bowen, 45, of Fort Collins has lived in Larimer County for 12 years. "Larimer County is home, the place where my family and I have put down roots, grown and continue to thrive," he said. "I want to help guide our county toward a more prosperous, sustainable future."

Larimer County is at a "pivotal point," said Bowen, adding that "we really have to focus on economic vitality." Other priorities are sustainable transportation solutions, environmental stewardship and quality of life.

Bowen is director of business development for Poudre Power Systems, a solar energy company specializing in photovoltaic systems.
