Larimer County voters will be getting ballots with several candidates
running for county office without opposition.
All contenders are incumbent Republicans. They are Scott Doyle, clerk and
recorder; Myrna Rodenberger, treasurer; Steve Miller, assessor; Chad Washburn,
surveyor; and Patrick Allen, coroner.
Salaries for elected county officials are set by the state legislature.
The three county commissioners, assessor, clerk and treasurer are paid
$87,300 annually. They serve four-year terms. The sheriff, also elected
to a four-year term, has an annual salary of $111,100. The minimum salary
set for the surveyor, a part-time position, is $5,500. The coroner's salary
is paid by fee.
Voters will also be asked to modify term limits for the district attorney
of the 8th Judicial District. A yes vote would change the maximum time
in office from two consecutive terms to three. The district attorney, who
is not up for election this year, gets a salary of $162,068.
Oct. 4 is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 election. Early
voting takes place from Oct. 18 through 29. Information on voting locations
is available online at www.larimer.org/elections. A list of vote centers
open on Election Day is also available online, and voters have the option
to request a mail-in ballot
