Views of Red Feather residents sought

Issues and choices facing Red Feather Lakes over the next 20 years and what residents would like to see happen are the topics of a county-sponsored open house on June 18.

The Red Feather Lakes Plan Advisory Committee and the Larimer County Planning Department will host the meeting from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Property Owners' Association Building in Red Feather Lakes.

Citizens are invited to drop by to get information on the planning process, discuss issues and make comments. Participants will be asked to complete a survey that will be compiled and presented to the advisory committee. The county planning team and committee members will be available to answer questions, and there will be opportunities to sit and discuss issues throughout the afternoon.

Property owners and residents will be mailed the same survey as will be available at the open house. Since there will be information and people to answer questions, citizens can also bring their survey to the open house and fill it out there if they prefer.

The plan advisory committee is working with county government on an area plan for Red Feather Lakes and wants to get citizen perspectives about the future of the area. The plan looks at a defined area, including the Red Feather Lakes Village, RFL Fire Protection District, Parvin and Dowdy Lakes and adjacent private lands. The plan area does not include Crystal Lakes.
