County approves $258 million budgetLarimer County Commissioners approved a 2006 county budget of $258,732,845 in December. The sum reflects a $10,356,437 increase over the budget originally proposed in October. The budget includes dollars for self-insured county medical, dental and unemployment plans. The original 2005 budget adopted a year ago was $237,558,276, but the budget changes throughout the year based on revenue sources. Last year's revised budget adopted on Dec. 19 is $272,579,258, a change of $35,020,982. The county's mill levy for 2006 sits at 22.541 mills, which includes 0.750 mill that goes to Foothills Gateway to serve disabled adults and 0.220 mill for 2005 property value adjustments. Commissioners also approved mill levies for 113 entities. Budget information is available on the county's web site at www.larimer.org/budget. |
