New jobs coming to city

Fossil Creek Current

A Portland, Ore., market research company will soon open a branch in south Fort Collins. The business will provide 250 professional and management jobs.

John Stepleton, president and CEO of Research Data Design, announced at a press conference on June 27 that RDD has signed a seven-year lease for its Fort Collins office, located at 2950 E. Harmony Road. The company will occupy about 12,000 of the 121,400 square feet in the building and will begin moving into its new facility by early July.

Founded in 1994, RDD conducts primary research studies across a wide range of business sectors, including business-to-business, consumer and multi-lingual audiences. Client segments include high tech, food and beverage, finance, insurance, automotive, healthcare, utilities, media and entertainment. It uses both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

RDD has two other market research centers located in Las Cruces, N.M., and Missoula, Mont. The company currently employs more than 400 trained individuals, including research associates, coaches, site managers, data analysts and account managers.

With the addition of the new research center, RDD will now have the capacity to conduct over 800,000 interviews annually among targeted consumers and business professionals. RDD's rapid growth has earned it a place on Inc. Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies list three years running.

"Mr. Stepleton and his team at RDD are bringing much needed new job opportunities to Northern Colorado," said J.J. Johnston, president of the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corp. "Every job is important to our community, and we are happy to work with RDD in creating new job opportunities and investing in Northern Colorado's future."

"We selected Fort Collins as our location for the new data research center because of its high standard of living," Stepleton said. "The community offers us a great deal of qualified associates for our business. The ability to complete more market studies is critical to our growth and success."

"RDD will provide Northern Colorado with an economic boost as they create new job opportunities for Larimer County residents, and by investing in our community and workforce," said Jacob Castillo, vice president of the NCEDC.

RDD is currently hiring for the new site, and questions about opportunities can be addressed to the site manager, Richard McCaffery at 377-2490 or richard.mccaffery@rdd.info. More information is available at www.rdd.info.
