Just in time for holiday giving, the hardcover volume of art created with charcoal from the High Park Fire is for sale. The 80-page, 8-3/4-inch square, full-color book contains not only images of the 58 original works created by 58 artists but also information and photos of the fire that raged through the North Forty area in June.

“The Ashes to Art Project” is available for $25 online from The Supply Cache, www.supplycache.com, or by calling 800-839-0821. Proceeds from sales of the book will go to the Poudre Canyon Volunteer Fire Protection District. An online auction of the original artworks raised $8,500 for the district in October.

The project was the brainchild of local photographer Tim O’Hara and artist Lori Joseph. They distributed bits of charred wood from the High Park burn area to artists around the country who used the charcoal to create the works they then donated to the auction.
