Quartet Atrevido Presents - Northern Colorado Chamber Music Spectacular @ Saint John's Lutheran Church

Quartet Atrevido hosts an afternoon of chamber music featuring our colleagues from across Northern Colorado! The program will include a variety of ensembles and genres and showcases the next generation of musicians in a profound way. Join us as we celebrate the talent and artistry of our friends, our upcoming performance at the International Clarinet Association conference, and the beauty of music which brings us together.

The Fort Collins-based student ensemble, Quartet Atrevido, is soon to perform at the International Clarinet Associations 2014 ClarinetFest conference in Baton Rouge. The conference, held at Louisiana State University, brings together hundreds of professionals, educators, and enthusiasts from around the globe for five days of panels, workshops, lectures, and concerts celebrating the clarinet and its music. The group submitted a proposal and audition recording on their own initiative in late September of last year, and were delighted to learn of their acceptance.

The ensemble unites students from a diverse academic background through their love of music. Members Allison Allum, Asa Graf, Emily Kerski, and Mando Ramirez currently study a wide range of topics, from Biochemistry to Computer Engineering, yet their love of making music with each other compels them to also pursue their artistic passion. The name of the ensemble is derived from the Spanish word atrevido, meaning bold. This captures the groups enthusiasm to take chamber music in new directions, as well as their particular interest in performing music from a variety of cultures. Colleagues for two years, the group has emerged as leaders in the CSU clarinet studio and music department, and they look forward to future projects and outreach performances in and around Fort Collins.

Don’t miss this event, to be held Saturday, July 26 at 3:00 pm at Saint John’s Lutheran Church, 305 E Elizabeth St, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
