While running for office, District Attorney, Clifford E. Riedel, pledged that he would establish a Community Perspective Committee to provide citizen input on a wide range of criminal justice issues. Cliff’s hope is that this committee will help the District Attorney’s Office be more responsive to community safety concerns in Larimer and Jackson counties. Citizens interested in participating on such a committee were asked to submit a letter of interest detailing their background and experience that would add value to the committee.
The inaugural meeting of the Community Perspective Committee, the first of its kind in the 8th Judicial District, was held on October 24. The following community members were selected and appointed to two year terms:
•Beverly Andrus (Jackson County)
•Roland Gilmore (Larimer County)
•Marv Moore (Larimer County)
•Wayne Murphy (Larimer County)
•Buffeigh O’Donnell (Larimer County)
•Sidna Rachid (Larimer County)
•John Rich (Jackson County)
•Jamie Viefhaus-Zak (Jackson County)
Members of the committee have all expressed their willingness to bring criminal justice concerns of their friends, neighbors and acquaintances to the Committee’s attention. Concerned citizens may also email suggestions for the Committee to firstname.lastname@example.org.
