ENTRY RULES:

1. You must be an AMATEUR photographer - photography has never contributed significantly to your income.
2. Photographs must be taken in Larimer County or Weld County, Colorado. If you have questions, please call 970-221-0213.
3. Photographs must be taken during 2011. 
4. All ages may enter one photo in each of the three main categories. All photos must be submitted as prints. Color or grayscale prints are accepted. No photocopies.
   • WIDE OPEN SPACES: Show us something -- your house, the county, the universe -- with lots of room.
   • WEATHER: Colorado's crazy weather is also sometimes very beautiful.
   • MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY: This is closeup (also called micro) photography. Any subject qualifies, but the image on a standard print should be life-size or larger. Focus on the most important part of the subject.
   • YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHERS ONLY: This category is open to photographers ages 18 and under. Any subject is allowed. This age group may also enter the categories above.
5. For all categories, print quality, composition and exposure are important. Preference will not be given to larger photos. Photos do not need to be matted.
6. Label the back of each submission with your name, address, phone number, approximate date of photo, location of photo, and category you are entering. DO NOT write directly on your photograph.
7. Photographers may pick up their entries at the North Forty News office after March 1, 2012. Otherwise, they will not be returned.
8. A panel of independent judges will choose the winners. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third places in each category. Please enclose a signed entry form with your submissions.
