Larimer County parks and open spaces entrance permits for 2013 will be available for purchase on Dec. 3. The annual permits allow use of Carter Lake, Flatiron Reservoir, Hermit Park Open Space, Horsetooth Reservoir, Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, Pinewood Reservoir and Ramsay-Shockey Open Space.
There have been some changes to the annual entrance permits. In 2013, permits will be good for a year from month of purchase; transferable among vehicles registered to the same household; and a combined permit can be purchased for both a vehicle and a boat trailer (one permit per trailer, not per boat).
No additional permit is required for non-trailered vessels, such as canoes, kayaks and belly boats that are carried on or in a vehicle.
Larimer County residents can purchase a vehicle-only annual entrance permit for $75; non-residents, $95. Combined vehicle and trailered boat permits are $150 for Larimer County residents, $190 for non-residents.
These permits may be purchased online at www.larimer.org/natural resources, beginning Dec. 3. Permits are also available at Larimer County Natural Resources Administrative Offices, 1800 S. County Road 31, Loveland (north of Carter Lake); at the Citizen Information Center at the Courthouse Offices Building, 200 W. Oak St., Fort Collins; and at local businesses listed at www.larimer.org/naturalresources/retail_outlets.htm. Permits will be on sale at Hermit Park Open Space until Dec. 19.
Seniors and the disabled may purchase discounted annual entrance permits for Larimer County parks and open spaces. A vehicle-only permit for anyone over the age of 65 costs $45; for the disabled, $10. A combined vehicle and boat permit for seniors is $120; for the disabled, $85.
Discounted permits will be on sale at the offices north of Carter Lake; at the courthouse in Fort Collins; and at Hermit Park Open Space through Dec. 19. They are not available online or from retailers.
