Wellington Boys and Girls Club, 3815 W. Harrison Ave., under the guidance of new unit director Susan Taylor and her team, kicks off its summer program for youth ages 6 through 18 on June 3.

The program addresses the club’s priority outcomes: academic success, good character and citizenship, healthy lifestyles and the arts, and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A hot meal and nutritious snacks are provided daily by the Larimer County Food Bank. Membership fee for the entire year is $10.

Programs include “Brain Gain” dedicated to preventing summer learning loss through fun and interactive activities. Community service projects, weekly youth leadership groups, opportunities to participate in sports leagues, cooking lessons and exposure to the dangers of substance abuse are all part of the summer activities.

Participants will also become involved in performing arts, visual arts and S.T. E. A. M.(science, technology, engineering, arts, math) through the program.
